Who Are Eat Curious?

Eat Curious is a next-generation food innovation company redefining the possibilities of plant-based eating. Based in Northampton, the brand was founded in 2021 with one clear mission: to make plant-based food better, better for people, better for the planet, and better for those cooking it. Designed specifically with foodservice sector in mind, Eat Curious has rapidly positioned itself as a leading supplier of chef-quality, allergen-free plant-based proteins and ready-to-eat-meals.

At the centre of Eat Curious is a commitment to continuous innovation. Their near-off-grid vertical farm not only fuels their operations but acts as a live testbed for new growing techniques and sustainable food production. This blend of real-world application and R&D makes Eat Curious one of the most forward-thinking brands in the sector, and a key player in shaping the future of sustainable food in the UK and beyond.

Their Values

Eat Curious is driven by a bold sense of curiosity, a value embedded into every part of their business. They are relentlessly focused on improving the taste, texture, and sustainability of plant-based food, and they treat innovation not as an occasional project, but as a mindset. Sustainability runs deep throughout the business, from the choice of ingredients and production methods to the carbon savings achieved by their products. Their use of data-backed tools such as Nutritics Footprints ensures that environmental impact is tracked, measured and reduced.

The brand champions inclusivity by designed all its products to be free from the 14 major allergens, making them accessible to much wider audience, including schools, hospitals, and high-footfall public catering spaces. Alongside this, every product is nutritionally considered, ensuring it’s not just plant-based, but also balanced, satisfying, and health-conscious. Eat Curious is as much about responsible nourishment as it is about great taste.

Their Services

Eat Curious offers a diverse and evolving portfolio of plant-based products tailored for the foodservice market. Their core range includes high-protein meat alternatives made from pea and faba bean proteins, such as Original Pieces, Hot & Spicy Pieces and BBQ Pieces, all designed to replicate the texture and flavour of meat while being entirely vegan, allergen-free, and easy to prepare in commercial kitchens.

In addition to their proteins, they have developed a line of finished meal solutions to cater to the growing demand for fast, healthy, and plant-based meals. This includes ready-to-heat dishes such as Three Bean Chilli, Lentil Bolognese, Chickpea Tikka Masala, and Root Veg & Kale Stew, ideal for universities, workplace canteens, healthcare, and large-scale caters.

To support their clients’ environmental goals, Eat Curious also offers sustainability insights through digital reporting tools that demonstrate the carbon footprint savings achieved by switching from meat to plant-based options, enabling their customers to track real impact alongside product quality.

Nene Venture’s Investment Strategy

Eat Curious is now seeking investment to scale up its operations and deepen its presence within the UK’s rapidly growing plant-based foodservice sector. This funding will support the expansion of production capacity, the launch of new products formats, and the recruitment of additional team members to support growth across sales, operations, and innovation.

The investment will also accelerate marketing activity, driving greater brand awareness within contract catering, hospitality, and institutional foodservice. Funds will be used to expand key partnerships, refine sustainability strategies, and fuel the next generation of menu-ready, chef-quality plant-based products.

Although Eat Curious is not currently using the full Nene Ventures ecosystem, we are proud to support the brand’s next stage of growth. Their purpose-led mission, commercial traction, and relentless innovation make them a standout player in one of the fastest-growing segments of the food industry.
